McFarlan Villages is hosting its 1st Annual Senior Winter Camp, a week-long camp focused on helping their residents beat the “winter blues”. Participants in the Senior Winter Camp will enjoy active exercise classes, a snow-free snowball fight, and indoor winter hunting. Residents will enjoy socialization with their fellow residents while participating in crafts, games, and entertainment. Depression is common in winter months, but this camp allows seniors to get out, get active, and have some fun!
Senior Winter Camp provides seniors with indoor activities to maintain mobility, strength, and endurance during the cold winter months. This highly anticipated event is modeled after McFarlan’s Senior Summer Camp, held in 2018, in which residents participated in summer games including a water balloon fight, water gun painting, and a corn hole tournament. “Summer Camp was such a successful event – I am so excited that our wonderful Wellness Team has developed Winter Camp as well. I can’t wait to see the residents participate in the new activities they have planned like indoor hunting and the snow ball fight!” Kelly Price, Administrator of McFarlan Home, McFarlan Villages’ assisted living home for women, said.
Senior Winter Camp at McFarlan Villages begins today at their 700 E. Court Street location in Flint and will occur every day this week through Friday from 1:30pm to 5:00pm. The Winter Camp will include daily activities, entertainment, and snacks.
