May is Older Americans Month. It is more important than ever that we recognize the positive impact older Americans have made on our society and to assure that we join with them in a meaningful life. We are pleased to share an Older Americans Month message from the Administration for Community Living which houses The Administration on Aging at the federal level. The promise of spring and summer with all of its glorious sights and sounds heralds in a promise for a better future.
It seems that scammers and swindlers never sleep! They seem to be working 24/7 to steal every dollar we have ever earned. Beyond stealing someone’s identity, these scoundrels get more creative all the time. They obviously have no compassion. Rather than pausing their devious actions during these turbulent times they have upped their game. Some new scams related to COVID-19 include:
Spring is typically considered the best time to sell a home. As the weather warms, interested buyers come out of hibernation, often with the goal of getting moved in before their children’s school year starts in the fall. The COVID-19 pandemic has thrown a monkey wrench in the U.S. real estate market during what would typically be a busy season. But there may be cause for some optimism if you are considering selling your home.
